Springfield Coal contracted with Hayden Wrecking to dismantle the existing breaker building, conveyors and their associated structures located at the Crown Ill Mine. The breaker building contained numerous types of process equipment. Hayden Wrecking utilized an Ultra High demolition excavator equipped with a rotating shear to dismantle the taller portions of the structures. A standard configured demolition excavator equipped with a rotating shear was utilized to further dismantle the components and load out the materials. Hayden Wrecking Demolition Craftsmen equipped with cutting torches down-sized the materials that were too heavy to cutwith mechanical methods. The salvageable materials generated from the precipitators were taken to a recycling firm.
